Mr. Smith’s practice includes general defense litigation, with a concentration in premises liability, personal injury issues, construction defects, products liability, collection law, and employment law.
He graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in political science. Mr. Smith received his Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University where he was selected as a Cordell Hull Fellow and was elected the Associate Director of the Trial Advocacy Board. While at Cumberland, he also received the Appellate Advocacy Scholar of Merit Award. He is a member of the South Carolina State Bar Association, the Charleston County Bar Association, and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association. Prior to moving to Charleston, Mr. Smith practiced law in Florence, South Carolina. While in Florence, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Florence County and served on the Executive Committee as United Way’s Treasurer. Mr. Smith is licensed to appear in all South Carolina State Courts, the United States District Court of South Carolina, and the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
