MG&C seeks to hire law school graduates who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance and who have a professional vision of developing their practice. We also consider interpersonal skills, community and civic involvement, written and oral communication skills, ethics and values, integrity, and a passion for client service.
As a part of our hiring process, we attend on-campus interviews at various law schools in North Carolina and South Carolina. For more information regarding on-campus interviews, please check with the recruiting offices at each school: University of North Carolina School of Law, Wake Forest University School of Law, Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, University of South Carolina School of Law, and Charleston School of Law.
During their first few years, new associates work directly with partner mentors attending trials, hearings, depositions, client meetings, seminars, and conferences to gain experience and exposure. MG&C believes that it is critical to provide associates with practical experience and frequent client contact early in their careers. We make a conscious effort to give our associates significant responsibility for cases and matters commensurate with their training and level of experience.
In addition to providing the tools associates need to succeed in their professional careers, MG&C recognizes the importance of providing frequent feedback as well as structured performance evaluations. Each associate receives an annual written evaluation in a one-on-one meeting with his or her partner mentor, where performance is discussed and goals are identified.
