Abby Edwards Saunders is a member of the MGC Litigation Team. Her practice focuses on business litigation, tort litigation, construction defect litigation, transportation and trucking, premises liability, coverage and bad faith, nonprofit and exempt organizations, taxation of Native Americans, and state and local taxation in the firm’s Myrtle Beach office. She also advises clients on general corporate matters.

Prior to joining MGC, Abby practiced law in the private sector as a partner and associate where she was involved in complex product liability litigation involving the aviation, pharmaceutical and automotive industries on a local, regional and national level.  She served as a Federal Law Clerk to the Honorable David C. Norton, United States District Court  Judge for the District of South Carolina in Charleston.  Abby was also a legal educator for many years at the Charleston School of Law, where she served as the Dean of Students, Director of Lawyering Skills & Professional Development and the Title IX Coordinator.  In addition to her Deanship, she taught Advanced Civil Procedure; Aviation Law; Critical Practice Skills; and Law Practice Management & Economics.  She has made numerous presentations on legal education across the country.  Before starting law school, Abby lived and worked in Japan with the Toyama Board of Education Office where she served as President of the Toyama JET organization and was selected by the Governor to serve as an Honorary Envoy to Toyama.

Abby and her husband, Mark, love living in Horry County, traveling, listening to live music, spending time at the beach and boating with family and friends.
