Brett Bayne’s practice focuses on general civil litigation defense including automobile negligence, premises liability, products liability and construction defects. He specializes in trial litigation and seeing cases through to verdict. Prior to joining MGC, Brett served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable G. Thomas Cooper, Jr. He also serves on MGC’s Trucking: Rapid Response Team.

In his spare time, Brett teaches Trial Advocacy at the University of South Carolina School of Law and has served as the Director and Head Coach of the USC School of Law Mock Trial Bar since 2013. During that time, the Mock Trial Bar has won numerous regional and national championships, repeatedly placed as finalists or semifinalists in competitions, and his students have won multiple outstanding advocate awards. The Mock Trial Bar is consistently ranked in the Top 10 programs in the country.

Outside of MGC, Brett can be found spending time with his wife and three daughters, Molly, Lucy and Annie. As a Texas-native, he believes the only proper barbecue is brisket. Brett enjoys smoking all varieties of meats, dining on only the highest quality Mexican food and all things Baylor. On occasion, he plays golf so poorly that he sets the game back decades.
