Meet workers’ compensation attorneys Kim Roper, Justin Sanders and Ebony Hayes in MGC’s Atlanta office.

KIM ROPER
Born in Weisbaden, Germany, Kim lived throughout Europe and the Middle East as a child. “During that time, I had the opportunity to become educated [on] different cultures, and it was amazing,” she says. Outspoken in nature and focused on helping others, Kim aspired to be a lawyer from an early age. She graduated from Kennesaw State University where she studied political science and writing, and continued her education at the Georgia State University School of Law.

With two decades of insurance defense experience, Kim practiced workers’ compensation as a partner at two southeast-based firms prior to joining MGC. “I was drawn to MGC because of the caliber of attorneys that the firm has collectively, as well as the strong women’s initiative and focus on diversity - especially in leadership roles,” she says. Kim was also intrigued by the firm’s focus on education and client needs, which aligns with her goals and work-ethic: “My hard work, dedication and desire to achieve the best outcome in every single case got me where I am today,” she adds. “I [also] maintain continued and timely contact with clients to ensure that we are collaborating on the most effective strategy in every claim with a goal of closing a file as quickly as possible.”

EBONY HAYES
An Atlanta native, Ebony began her education at the University of West Georgia where she studied business management with a concentration in human resources management. Thereafter, she attended the Mercer University School of Law and obtained an advanced legal writing certificate. “I chose to obtain a law degree and pursue a career as an attorney to assist people, businesses and organizations with legal problems and further public good,” says Ebony. “I also wanted to be able to practically champion causes that I am passionate about. Lastly, I wanted to show individuals that look like me that it was possible to obtain success in careers outside of music, entertainment and sports, and still make a difference for the culture.”

Ebony joined the firm’s workers’ compensation practice in April alongside of Kim and Justin (who you’ll meet below). “MGC seemed like it would be a great fit. It is so technologically ahead of the curve, and I have always heard great things about the culture,” she says. Through determination, problem solving and the ability to work harmoniously and efficiently with others, Ebony strives to provide thoughtful communication to, and zealous representation of, her clients. By being thorough and detailed in her analysis of issues, she also ensures that clients understand how their decisions can affect their business and workers' compensation claims.

JUSTIN SANDERS
Born in Carrollton, Georgia, a town just outside of Atlanta, Justin studied political science at the University of West Georgia, and continued his education at the Mercer University School of Law. “I decided to go to law school so that I could help people. Attorneys are often more than just legal experts - they provide valuable information and counsel their clients through difficult decisions,” he says.

With an insurance defense background, Justin goes above and beyond for his clients by focusing on accessibility, perseverance, integrity and fine-tuned representation. “[It is vital to] keep them updated on their claims,” he says. “I [also] find that it is [key] for them to know that their case is important, and that we are continually doing our best to represent them.”
