RALEIGH, NC – Law firm McAngus Goudelock & Courie is pleased to announce that Raleigh attorney JD Keister has been named a recipient of the CLM Professional of the Year Award as Outside Counsel. The CLM Professional of the Year Award program celebrates the passion, commitment and achievements of those in the Claims Litigation Management Alliance community who inspire and innovate to advance the future of claims and litigation management.

JD Keister has practiced civil and complex litigation at MGC for nearly two decades. He routinely engages in the representation of parties in construction, professional liability, insurance coverage, bad faith, real estate litigation, catastrophic loss, transportation/automobile litigation, commercial litigation and first party defense for insurance carriers. Keister has served on a number of industry panels and internal carrier roundtables, assisting in the design and implementation of systems and processes. He is a regular presenter to national organizations on topics impacting the industry, litigation management and metrics.
JD Keister is known in the insurance industry for his involvement with different litigation management professional associations. He currently serves as a Dean to CLM’s School of Litigation Management and is a regular instructor at CLM’s Litigation Management Institute (LMI). Keister is the Chair for the Litigation Management Symposium, and is the President of the Eastern North Carolina Chapter of CLM. He is a former member of the DRI Insurance Roundtable Steering Committee and has held multiple positions with the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, currently serving as Executive Vice President. Keister is also a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, Wake County Bar Association and Professional Liability Underwriting Society. He has been named to North Carolina Super Lawyers as a Rising Star and Business North Carolina Legal Elite for his construction practice.
