Please see the Commission Notice setting forth a new administrative procedure for Informal Conferences. The Deputy Commissioner will no longer approve Form 16A settlements at an Informal Conference but, rather, will forward the Form 16A to the jurisdictional Commissioner for final review and approval. This is a departure from the current protocol, in which the Deputy Commissioner has authority to approve a settlement at an Informal Conference. Under the new policy, if the jurisdictional Commissioner does not approve the Form 16A, it will set the matter for a hearing.
