MGC launched MGCU in January of 2008 for the continuing education of all our attorneys. MGC presents educational seminars on a wide variety of topics. Past topics include practice management, legal writing, negotiation, law firm administration, client communication, ethics of social networking and stress management. These sessions are often approved by the North and South Carolina Bars for continuing legal education credit.
New associates work directly with senior mentors. During the first few years, they get wide exposure to trials, hearings, mediations, depositions and client meetings. We believe that all associates need practical experience and client contact early in their careers.
MGC identifies senior associates and members who have particular strengths in teaching and guiding new lawyers. In many cases, these mentoring relationships are long lasting and strengthen both professional growth and friendship within our law firm.
