COLUMBIA, SC – McAngus Goudelock & Courie, a regional insurance law firm, has elected two new members to the firm’s Management Committee, effective July 1, 2022. Amy Jenkins leads the firm’s Employment Law practice group and is located in Charleston, SC. Andrew Ussery serves as the firm’s Practice Area Leader for Workers’ Compensation and is located in Charlotte, NC. Jenkins and Ussery bring significant experience, perspective and insight to the firm’s leadership while ensuring that diversity, equity and inclusion remain at the forefront of firm decisions and strategic planning.

Amy Jenkins is the first female to be elected to MGC’s Management Committee and is invested in the firm’s diversity, equity and inclusion programs, where she serves as chair of its Belong @ MGC committee, which fosters a firm culture where talented individuals from all walks of life are recruited, empowered, included, respected and rewarded. She has nearly 30 years of experience handling all aspects of employment law, including litigation pending in federal and state courts, and claims pending with state and federal agencies, including EEOC, SHAC and DOL. Jenkins is a South Carolina Supreme Court Certified Specialist in Labor & Employment Law, a Certified Mediator and a Certified Litigation Management Professional through the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance (CLM). She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Hampshire Honors Program. Jenkins is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, South Carolina Supreme Court Employment and Labor Law Specialization Advisory Board, Charleston County Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association and North Carolina State Bar. Andrew Ussery has over 20 years of workers’ compensation experience and is a North Carolina Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law and Certified Mediator. He serves as the firm’s Practice Area Leader for Workers’ Compensation, providing strategy and guidance to the firm’s expansive workers’ compensation lawyers and legal professionals. Ussery received his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from Wake Forest University. He is a member of the North Carolina State Bar Association, Mecklenburg County Bar Association and North Carolina Associate of Defense Attorneys. Ussery has been recognized by North Carolina Super Lawyers, Business North Carolina’s “Legal Elite” and The Best Lawyers in America©.
